Two melodies and one bass line

Featured Replies

Hi, Folks:

Here is my recently finished piece. I’d like to get some valuable input from you. I used chord roots in bass. Maybe you think I should use a different chord at a certain place or I should voice the bass line so it moves in stepwise motion or some place just sounds awkward. Any input is appreciated.

Thanks

Hello @Yi Ming,

Welcome to the forum!

Will you also provide the midi soundtrack here so that we can better realize the score?

From what I see in the score I notice there are many changes of key singatures and I think some of them are unnecessary. You can also add the bowings to the string instuments too. I think the bassline can be another melody too and not necessarily playing whole notes, and even if it's accompanying you can still vary the pattern like broken chords and tremolos for instance.Ā

Thx for sharing and joining.

Hi, Henry:

Thank you for your valuable input. I will look into making the baseline a melody too.Ā

I tried to upload the midi, but couldn't. it doesn't allow midi file upload.

Best,

Yi Ming

I think an mp3 file should be able to be attached alongside the post! Maybe you can try it!
