I'm a writer guitarist w/ a lot of original songs in demo form on mp3 or other. Also, I play and sing live. I would like to be able to upload, score and transcribe my music, as well as sound output it in various "convincing" forms of instrumentation. It seems that the products I've been looking at do either well, but not both; ie Soundcloud and Musecore are fine for input, but lack in output quality. Finale & Dorico have great sound output but are priced in the stratus! Can anyone save me some time and agravation with my search? I'm not looking for "Film Industry Standard" results...just something better than average. My goal is to ultimately hire studio musicians to read & record my compositons, mostly for posterity sake. For being a completely free software, Musescore 4 with Musesounds offers relatively high quality renditions and flexibility in sheet music production. Also, you can download various effects off of Musehub such as delay, reverb, compressor, equalizer and etc. Is there a problem that you ran into that prevented you from using it? On the topic of inexpensive software, I gotta mention Reaper which is a Digital Audio Workstation that has a perpetual trial period meaning you can try it out for free for as long as you need (the licence is $60 I believe). I use it sometimes to combine various different mp3s and to run some free vsts I downloaded. Also put a limiter on my mp3s to get rid of clipping. Hope some of that helps!
