Adagio for trio - "Sorrow"

Featured Replies

Hi all, this is adagio for trio what i have written some years ago. It has got inspiration from Gorecki's "symphony of sorrowful songs" and Rachmaninov's "isle of the dead" but it is much more ambient and minimalistic than those great compositions that are written for orchestra. It mimics crying and recovering from it. The soundfont for violin is Woodwind choir, it sounds different than violin.

That was nice, @semotivo! I especially like your unusual choice of time signatures. If I had to give you one piece of constructive criticism, it would be that (since you say that the piece "mimics crying and recovering from it") I personally didn't really get the impression that there was much development in the piece to attest to that. Otherwise, you really have a lot of potential with this one, and your choices of inspirations are great ones to work off given the intended mood you wish to evoke. Either way, I'll be interested to see where you end up!

That was a bold choice on your part, I must say that I really enjoyed the short time I listened to your work.
