Featured Replies

Im sure all of you will get a kick out of this one. Performed completely on chinese instruments, my favorite group (12 girls band) brings new life to classic favorites >^_^<

either have i, but i thought someone here might like this song

I can't really see why half the world has fallen in love with these girls...

this is the type of music that gives inter-cultural collabaration a bad name

trite trite trite

I agree. Once you look past the Chinese instruments, it's also the kind of stuff that gives pop/classical crossover in general a bad name: all they really did with it was heavily "poppify" it by taking away everything but the melody, and replacing it with pounding drums and bass.

huh?...

The fact that this was bumped up over my Piano Concerto no. 17 thread is a severe.... injustice. Mozart is turning in his grave.

Shame.

>^_^< grossness

Personally, i like it, but i dont want to talk about ot so everyone can see

yeah, really guys, i dont criticize you music becouse i dont understand it, so for you to criticize my music when you dont understand it is really rude. ever since i got here everyone has been hacking away at the art i so love and appreciate, and it is seriously starting to hurt my feelings

Um, I'm not exactly hacking away at everything else. It's just that this particular example isn't exactly the best for promoting Chinese music, when it's exactly the same as Western pop music.

the thing is is that people do understand 12 girls...

whats there not to understand?

and i don't get it... you say your gay, yet your obsessed with their boobs and so forth??? OK well you know I'm drawing some stereotypes here, but hey...

I thought they did a decent job of mixing two famous tunes. Would have preferred them to go back and forth between them a bit more, mixing the themes more.

Make the drums and bass guitar more interesting (ie: lose the "pop" feel) and this would have been way more cool.

Edit: And it definately needed heavy distorted guitars playing the "da da dum" riff.

Edit2: I do think Mozart and Beethoven would have been horrified, though.

Oh my God!
