user011235 Posted May 25 Posted May 25 I went through a ragtime phase in high school, and this one I think is the most solid out of the rags i composed. I picture an old squash and stretch car from those classic cartoons, bouncing along at a moderate pace MP3 Play / pause JavaScript is required. 0:00 0:00 volume > next menu The Old Automobile Rag > next PDF The Old Automobile Rag 1 Quote
Henry Ng Tsz Kiu Posted May 25 Posted May 25 Hi @user011235! I like this rag haha, really fits well to the style and the animation. If I don’t remember wrongly, our boss @chopin has composed rags before. Thx for sharing! Henry 1 Quote

David_DLM Posted May 26 Posted May 26 Hey! I loved the upbeat pace and the charming, animated energy. Such a fun listen! Great rag, and great work capturing that classic cartoon feel! 1 Quote

PeterthePapercomPoser Posted May 27 Posted May 27 Hi @user011235! I like this rag! I was actually surprised to hear the 16th notes in this swung. I had to look up whether rags were ever swung or not because the ones I was familiar with were played straight. But it turns out that later rags, after 1920 did in fact incorporate swing time into them even if sometimes only in the right hand syncopations. Great rag though! Makes me think of this Simpsons clip: LoL!! Thanks for sharing. 1 1 Quote
