Philip Glass

In my opinion.

good sound, yet it resembles Chinese water torture put to music

edit: Drat, mispelled his name

What do you all think of him?

:D my thread idea!

Not that much to say about him... Lets all just start counting in random order

Not unhappy with Glass. First piece I heard was his performance on the radio of Dance IV (played on organ). Wasn't too impressed with much else until his live performances of the soundtracks of Koyanisqqatsi and Powaqqatsi to the films, the first at the RFH, second at the Barbican.

I was a bit diverted by Nyman who had just emerged with "Think Slow Act Fast" and a few other ditties, later the track to Drowning by Numbers. I've seen him a few times in concert. His harpsichord concerto is worth a listen.

He is my idol. Yes his music is monotanous at times but it is haunting and his melodies are interesting.
