Morivou
I am 14, I just finished my piano series learning program. It was the Alfred Basic. I want to start building up a repertoire, where do I start?
Marius
Piano store..? Book store that sells piano sheets...? sheetmusic.com... Bizarre question there - sheet music is everywhere - pick the kind of music you want to play at a level that's slightly above yours, go get the music and play it. Morivou
No not like that... I mean what kind of music should I look to being building my repetoire... Like I am not about to embark on the journey of playing Beethoven's 9th in Piano Reduction...
frantz
i think that Marius is right. it seems to me that if you are not personally attached to a piece of music it would be difficult to you perform it finely. otherwise you would become a simple machine of reproducing sounds and not a sensitive performer. love is the key. that's my opinion. Guest CreationArtist
You still have to build technical skill by playing everything from everywhere and every time whether you like the pieces or not. Love can wait. :)
Tchaikovsky
It makes a huge difference in how you play if you don't love to play it.
EldKatt
Your teacher will be able to help you with this better than any of us. I assume you have a teacher. If not... I think you can figure out where I'd suggest you start.
