December 18, 200619 yr Inspired by Beaudelaire's poem... Very exprimental and dark... I really don't know about this one, tell me. Mp3 here
December 19, 200619 yr Author Sorry, no score: I used Reason I love this program but it does not produce any score :D
December 23, 200619 yr Unusual name - only saw one other piece of music called "Spleen", by Philippe Delisle, from his collection "Impressions" It is short but unusual.
December 24, 200619 yr Strange title... Very scary indeed. At one point I half expected it to break out into a Frankenstein Organ theme. Whadya know, it almost did. I liked the bells, but hey, I'm a percussionist. You wrote this with Reason, ya say? I'm gonna have to check that out then...heh... Kudos to you, christianic. A scary piece that was actually scary. ~Kal
February 13, 200719 yr You can approximate a score if you go to File>Export as Midi in Reason and then import the midi file into whatever program you normally use.
February 18, 200719 yr I love this piece. When i closed my eyes, I thought of the room in saw one where the main plot is....well done!:)
February 19, 200719 yr Author Haha! I'm really sorry for the score... I tried as you said Kyle (thanks for the advice btw), but really, even with hours of works, I couldn't make something good out of this. The piece was not designed to be played, and sincerely, there's not much to analyze. It's in C minor, I often sustain bass notes and play them chromatically, creating a "blur" of low threatening sounds. The melody was mostly improvised.... As for the bells, I'm a bit ashamed to tell you the truth! I loaded the percussions patch, tried it and recorded! I didn't actually want those bells, but after the recording, I tought they were not so bad, so I kept them... Anyway, for Reason users, PM me and I'll send it to you! (May I suggest the forum to allow .rns files? That would be kind ^^)
February 19, 200719 yr Nicely done, Christian! You've created a nice soundscape here which does its job fairly well. The bells were a nice touch but they removed the scariness from it for me; this piece felt tense but not particularly frightening. The drop-off around 1:39 wasn't too well-done; the idea was good but the execution could use refining. The organ is subtle and nice, I'm glad you chose to keep it fairly quiet. Overall this is a really pretty soundscape and we could use more pieces of the like on this site. In fact, I may even post some to get the ball rolling, so to speak :D Great work! :)
February 19, 200719 yr ever played timesplitters? youre music reminds me so much of that game, especailly the robot factory level lol, very impressive i enjoy purely atmospheric music, and this is very good indeed, sounds like a very professional piece! well done 10/10 (for this genre :P )
