In my opinion, I personally thought it was all around the place. It sort of felt like it was just random notes at some points. The theme was also changing.

I don't know a lot about music because I just play, not compose. I want to start composing though.

I also think that you should get a listener's opinion, not a fellow composer's.

I just joined on my birthday and I'm 13 so, I don't know too much.

P.S. I didn't like the way the piano part changes abruptly at measure 21. But, I did like the piano solo before 21.

This is a good start. Is it your first piece? There was some work with chords around the middle but the ostinato from the flute around bar 50 (the one that occurs throughout the piece, I think) was kind of tiresome. Also, you repeated the same four-bar chord progression for too long. Some of the music's nice, however. Good work. Keep writing!

i'm a flute player and just started composing..

but i think this is a wonderful piece and would love to play it

in person.

lol... please don't take this the wrong way... but listening to this through Window's midi library TOTALLY makes it sound like a song from Zelda :w00t: ... or some RPG by nintendo. If you haven't listened to it on Window's Media Player... totally do it. dang.. I'm loving this.

You've inspired me to beat Zelda all over again. :D

(Alright seriously :w00t: ) If this is your first piece, its good. Really good for a first composition. I think it's safe to say that you are on the right track, (talk about ambiguous).

If you'd like to hear what other people's first compositions sound like, (to sorta see where your composition fits in) check out this link: http://www.youngcomposers.com/forum/your-first-work-2463.html

Hope to see more of you on this site! (I'm new as well).

I disagree with the first poster see how the wrong chords are is when the mind listens to it, it latches into auditory memory and and the mind want's to listen to it again.
