Some Great, Free Sound Samples

Featured Replies

I wasn't sure where to put this. :D

For use in mixer-based software.

Anyways, I was searching online for a free whisper sound effect for a piece, but I came across this instead:

Philharmonia Orchestra Sample Libraries

They have professional quality sound samples, which come in .mp3, .wav and .aif, and they are free for personal or commercial use. I recommend looking in the "Orchestra Sounds" section. They have some great stuff in there, especially Orchestral Effects-wise, something lacking for those of us who use soundfonts, instead of libraries. So far they've been a blessing for me, since I've been looking for these specific sounds for like, ever.

Oh, and they have individual sound samples on most instruments, though some were not recorded chromatically, and none are really sustained for more than a second.

In short: Specifically look in the Orchestral Sounds section to fill those FX gaps in most sound banks/libraries.

I never did find those whispers though.

Er.. So how I am supposed to use em?

I forgot that most of you use Finale. I updated the first post, sorry about that.

Sweet! Perfect for FL Studio. I have to give this a try :P
