Venting Nu Metal Song

I had a bad day so....

It's got a lot of "techniques" that I learned here and there, like diads with thirds. I used three "scales" in it. Greek Dorian, Harmonic and Minor, all in a, I also put the heightened seventh, and the lowered second along with A during the call and responce in the outro, other than that not much more to comment.

Good job, I liked it. I wish I could see a score and a timer on it. The top melody of the half time part is too sporadic in my opinion, thicken it up just a little bit. Those spaces feel bad(in a quality of music way). Let the end hang on a bit more as well. Over all good job.

Did you do all the recording yourself if not which program did you use to make it?

Yeah I felt that too, I should really go through this one again.

Over all good job.

Thanks!

Acctually...believe or not, I did none of it.

which program did you use to make it?

FL Studio 5, but the sound mostly came from the soundfonts I used.

http://www.mymidi.ru/Files/Banks/Distor2/Lead%20gtr.rar For the Guitar

Collections Soundfonts - Download Airfont 340 soundfont

airfont340 for the Slap Bass (Slap Bass 2), Harmonics and Jazz Guitar

And

Collections Soundfonts - Download Fluid - Release 3 soundfont

Fluid 3 for the Drum Kit (Standard)

This is the combination I generally use in all my rock songs.

This time around I also passed the Bass, Rythm Guitar and Harmonics through the JCM 9000 vst plugin from Simunalog's Guitar Suite

KVR: SimulAnalog Guitar Suite - Virtual Effect

You can load soundfonts and vsts in Finale, I have no idea if you can do that with Sibelius though and for all I know you're using a completely different program.

I HATE Nu-Metal! Try doing some stuff that involves TRUE metal!!!

I HATE Nu-Metal!

I so, saw that coming Lol

ahh im sorry, this is horrid. just record the guitars man. synth guitars sound like donkey. otherwise just use straight midi cause these are just as bad as the GM synth guitars.

Honestly, I'm not feeling the dissonance and the harmonics you overlay onto everything are distracting. You should try putting some dynamics into the drums also. You know, hard soft hard soft on the ride and etc to trick us into thinking its a real kit.

Admittedly yeah, I used too much of that, there's no real progression and the only "real chords" involved thirds rather than fifths, which really isn't fitting for this kind of song. Also the fact that everything plays a different rythm in the chorus makes it pretty chaotic (In a non cool way).

I want to redo it from the start considering I learned a lot of new methods since I wrote it, but at the same time I don't want to mess with it at all.

Thanks for the advice!
