Mercury (2nd movement of Jupiter)

This movement I wrote about a month or so ago for a piano concerto called Jupiter. The 1st half of the 1st movement has already been posted as Ganymeade ( the largest moon of Jupiter). In time I hope to post the entire concerto. Any comments would be gratefully accepted. Here is the link. well, I don't hear any piano in the piece you've linked to...

out of curiosity, why call the whole piece Jupiter, with a movement named for one of Jupter's moons, and then another movement called Mercury?

I've listened to a number of your pieces, and I am noticing a distinct lack of rythmic inventiveness. There's a sort of rambling, aimlessness to your music, brought on by the sort of rythmic units you use: the constant barrage of 8th or 16th notes. It would serve you well to more carefully delineate some rythmic contours, longer notes, syncopations, more characteristic rythmes.

It's a shame that the rythme takes away from what is otherwise quite interesting harmonically.

The 1st movement is Ganymeade and will be incorporated into Jupiter( the 1st movement). Mercury is 2nd followed by Mars, Venus, Luna(which will be added to Venus) and ending with Jupiter Reprise.The finished piece will be Jupiter, Mercury, Mars, Venus and Jupiter Reprise. Sorry for any confusion.

What I am trying to accomplish is to have each piece reflect the attributes of its namesake both in the solar system and in the mythical arena. For example Mercury is always associated with speed and deliveries.
