I don't know what to write next, any suggestions?

Also, I think the transition from the fermata to the next part is too sudden, I want it to be more smooth. I just don't know what to put. One more thing, I don't know how to write for percussion too well which is why there is lack of percussion

Are you using Finale '05 or before?

If that's the case, Finale cannot open files that were created with a later version.

there is a form of pentatonic you may consider employing, its called the hirojoshi scale, a japanese scale i believe.
