Breakin' into the movies.....................

Featured Replies

The_Underground_Trail.midHi - I have just discovered this forum. What a great idea................

A documentary film maker asked me to come up with a piece for a film he was making. He pitched it all to the History Channel but couldn't get funding ( no big surprise ! ), so I am left with this first time ' film ' composition that never saw the light of day and would really appreciate feedback from people who know about this stuff.

It is only a demo version in midi format, and I know the drum pattern is not brilliant - I was going to rely on the creativity of a good human if it came to be recorded !

Loosely, there are three sections which could have been used in chunks against the three phases of the film :

1. A derelict WW2 RAF fighter is found in the Burmese jungle. It's original surviving aircrew is reunited with it it.

2. It is painstakingly restored.

3. It takes to the air again , one last emotional time...

The brief was '1940's' colouring with a modern edge.

Wow! This is really good! I really like the piano melody and the strings together in the first minute or so. Nice interesting chords. I also like 3:00 to the end how it keeps repeating until that last chord. nice work.

Suggestions? All I can say is that it seemed kinda short to me. You could take that melody and go a lot further with it. But otherwise, great song!
