Wurlitzer Improvisation

Featured Replies

An unprepared improvisation on my own back-up track. This is a track I've used to solo over before, so in this run I tend to try out dissonant things, looking for new lines. Goes unaccompanied with Beethoven-esque double trills near the end. I haven't seen any other improvisations around, and starting a trend of them seems like a good idea. Someone should nick some of Nico's and upload them here.....

Keyboard Jam

Not too fussed about parts of this, but the ending was great.:)

I thought it was very relaxing, but then again, just the sound of a wurlitzer flicks a "relaxing" switch in my brain:P

Danke, non-crazy Bob. I felt pretty good about the ending thing. I blame the many rehearsals of Beethoven's Third Piano Concerto I sat through for that particular inspiration.

I like wurlies. Very chilled out sound. It's so easy to be cool and jazzy on one. Do you have any improv mp3s, bob? I should be glad to hear them.

I hate you. But not really. Just fake, unhatey hate. Mild jealousy, really. Where'd you get it, and was it expensive?

That is what we have ,is a wurlitzer.

It's a 1937 upright. It belonged to an old friend of the family. He wasn't using it so my brother bought it as a Christmas present. It was about $400. :P

Our local piano tuner couldn't believe we got it for such a great price. We were extremely fortunate.

Wow!!!!

I know. It was freakin' awesome.
