Ad Lib Lines for Sibelius 4

hey I'm writing a jazz band chart for a jazz band project and I cant figure out how to get those slash mark lines you see on staves of music when you are supposed to be ad libbing or improvizing. does anyone know where to find them on Sibelius 4?

on the little menu in the top right corner of screen click on the box with the checked box that is labeled properties. Click on "notes" the first option under that is the different kind of note heads you can use... I believe what your looking for is #3. Then put in the notes where needed

There's a quicker way to convert to slash notation in Sibelius.

1 for the measures where you want slash notation, enter a bunch of quarter notes all in a row on the middle line (sounding b above middle c).

2 select all the notes once you're done and hit shift-alt 3 or shift-alt 4

(that's the 3 or 4 on the MAIN computer keyboard, not the number pad).

3 your notes will turn to slash notation, with or without stems/rhythms.
