May 10, 200719 yr This is a piece for concert band that I wrote when I was really angry. It is a very short sort of prelude or overture...I'm not quite sure how to describe it. I would love reccomendations on what to do next with it, or any changes to be made to what's there already. Thanks, and enjoy. ps. I know the midi sounds ridiculous, but you can tell what's going on. May 14, 200719 yr I enjoyed the piece though it was very short. It may be too short to stand alone but I think it would go well with some other movements.
May 14, 200719 yr I agree with robtheman...Very short but nice. And I think its good that you take your anger out by writing music. Instead of other things.
May 15, 200719 yr The most obvious thing, to me, is that the pedal Bb runs through essentially the entire piece. So, the piece lacks any direction harmonically - the pedal point was very effective in the statement of the theme, but it just begs to break out into a thick, rich harmony after that. So, it's really a nice start - but it needs more development of the ideas involved.
