May 28, 200718 yr My ears tell me you need to develop the melodic line (appears around 0'24"). I'd "change key" a little before the closing bars of what you've done. This kind of harmony (some people might argue that it isn't harmony, comprising just bare 5ths most of the time) could easily move to a new tonal centre like a "key" a major third above the one you start in, then give that melody a really good blast. Plenty of variations are possible - running it in the bass or treble, contrary motion etc. good luck, M
May 28, 200718 yr I think you're using far too many open fifths - it sounds like a cliched Roman fanfare. After this fast-paced rhythmically based section, I think you need a softer more lyrical section, making more use of the light percussion you've included with a flowing clarinet and flute melody.
