June 17, 200718 yr Hey, I wrote this last year, just cause I was insanely bored at school so I wrote something down. And, voila! It turned into this. Anyway, I was just wondering what you thought of it, get some feedback :) ok, thanks in advance! :D Storm (sibelius).mid Storm.sib
June 18, 200718 yr Good speed, I liked the triplet texture sounding like angry moving clouds. I like some transition however, I can hear the harmonic mistakes but I don't have enough skills for fixing them on paper, so I suggest viewers knowledgable enough to comment on this. Good short piece.

Good short piece. I am an amateur so I have no idea what I'm talking about; but that said; what defines a harmonic "mistake?" It seems to me that "correct" and "incorrect" would have to be defined first. What are these definitions and who came up with them? Finally, are they objective, or is it the opinion of several musicologists since the 18th century? Sorry..I really don't understand and I see these "mistakes" mentioned so often on this forum I wonder if there's something there that I haven't considered. now, about the posted composition: You've done a good job on this composition. I liked the main melody. Also the rolling triplet bass, that's one of my favorite styles of accompaniment. Keep it up.
June 23, 200718 yr Nice :o This is my first time back to YC in months, and overall I enjoyed the piece. I have to say that the piece flows nicely. I liked your use of transitional chords in the left hand (1st/2nd inversion) along with the changing dynamics which to me gave the impression of constantly moving changing emotion, mostly unsettled. I also heard some very nice progressions. Perhaps a suggestion for improvement would be to add some more variation to the types of harmony that you use. I heard mostly minor/major chords. Maybe experiment with a seventh or dimished, etc.
