Monthly Competitions - Winners

Featured Replies

Here I'll list all the winners from our monthly competitions. Additions to the list will naturally be made as more competitions are completed. You can post in this thread if you have any questions related to this list.

This is supposed to act as a little incentive for participation - win a competition and have your name immortalized in Anders' big, funky and red text. :)

COMPETITION #1 - March 2007 Competition

Participants: KSP, ralphb, lind and awayfromlight

Winner: ralphb

COMPETITION #2 - Piano Rhapsody Competition

Participants: SineQuaNon, Anders and spc1st

Winner: SineQuaNon

COMPETITION #3 - Wind Trio Competition

Participants: Creationartist, Mitchell, Alex and FPShubertII

Winner: Creationartist

Congrats SineQuaNon, your piece was by far the best!!!:P

Also, you could probaly brag about it in your sig...

Thank you all for the support! :P It was fun, plus it drove me to write more piano solo music which is always something I mean to do.

It should be noted that I did not participate in the second competition ;)

Indeed... You want a cookie?

Hey - I know that it's not TOO hard to implement features like medals, trophies, etc.. in PHP. Just a simple "if + else" bit. Ask mike about it.

Maybe these would be good in the user profile? giant shiny graphics :P

Tacky = bad.

Tacky = unoriginal, you mean?

and stupid then?

No, tacky = ugly.

Just as a reminder, anyone can start new mini challenges. If you don't know how to organize, use the previous ones as templates.

Were there not a lot more competitors in the Piano Rhapsody challenge? In the original thread, I'll try and find it.

EDIT: http://www.youngcomposers.com/forum/challenge-2-poll-8194.html?highlight=Piano+Rhapsody

Those three were the finalists in the tiebreak thing...

But it says participants, not finalists.

My rhapsody shouldn't even have been in that competition. ;)

For the record, winners are now listed on the Wiki. To view the full list, visit Young Composers:Contests and Competitions

Does someone (and I will volunteer if no one else wants to do it) want to uptdate that competition results page? It's kind of nice just to have one place with everything all together.
