Guest Anders
Welcome to the duet competition! For this competition you will use two instruments of whatever type you choose to write music in whatever style you choose! The pieces will be judged by a panel of volunteer YC members. If you want to participate, please post in this thread and I will add you to the list. Similarly, if you want to be a judge, you should also post in this thread. THE DEADLINE: 23:59 EST JULY 31 A NOTE: Composers must submit NEW MUSIC ONLY. You can expand on existing works/sketches, but the piece should consist of at least 50% new material. Guest CreationArtist
in whatever style you choose I'm guessing originality isn't a judging criterion?
Guest Anders
The judging criterion will consist mainly of how well you manage to use the two instruments - is it idiomatic? Do the two instruments interact imaginatively? etc..
RavingSpleen
I would like to participate, providing there are enough spots available.
SineQuaNon
I think originality could be part of the criteria, it's possible to be original even within a style. There's a difference between emulating a style with original ideas and then just copying a style by copying ideas.
Guest Anders
If you have any suggestions for judging criteria, I'd be happy to see them. PM them to me, pretty please. :P
