hi. im a 14yr old girl in 8th grade who's really interested in a singing and/or acting career. i sing most types of music very well, and i've written a couple half-decent pop songs that need some revision before i get them published. 2 probs: how do i get myself noticed, and how do i get my music noticed? i've written two pop songs, and i have melodies to both of them. i can sing them, but i need to show someone that i can sing them and that i have some talent. i also play piano (lessons 8yrs)and im currently teaching myself guitar. any people out there interested e-mail me at MnMluvzu16@aol.com and put in the subject box "songs".

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:

My Dad has composed and recorded on demo tape 150 songs, all in Spanish, mostly in the traditional Mariachi style. He suffered three strokes three years ago and now cannot perform his own music. I want to help my Dad realize his dream, by getting his songs out so other artists can record them, but I don't know where to start.

If someone out there could kindly offer some advice or more information on this, I would be most grateful. Thank you so much for your time.

Hi,

I'm a composer who enjoys writing ALL types of music but especially film / game music, popular music and neo-romantic music. I would love to get some job experience and thanks to the internet I can easily do this to anyone, anywhere in the world even though I live in Australia. I do a lot of stuff with MIDI and keyboards aswell as a lot of classical stuff. So if anyone wants to get in contact with me, just email me at mclift@ausi.com and I can send you some samples which describe my music for what your looking for.

Seeya!

Hi, I just created a web site and I put some of my songs on it as well as some details about me. I would love some 'proper' work or tasks. Please visit it at www.geocities.com/matty_1000/index.html and give me any feedback you want to mclift@ausi.com

Hey, is there any musicians in the Denver area that are looking for a composer? I can't play for beans, but still like to jam. I write post-industrial music, usually for small ensambles. Jazz and Romantic pieces are fun, too. I've got this nice piece for Piano, Guitar and Drum Set that is just aching to be played, as well as String Quar/Quintets and solos. E-mail me at brachfeld@pickletree.com

Hi I'm Shannon and I'm 18. I live in Plano, Texas and I'm looking for a few people, mainly girls, who wanna form a new girl group. I've always wanted to be a singer/dancer and I've never had the opportunity to sing onstage so I'm hoping if I can form a girl group, then maybe, just maybe, I might have a chance to be noticed. I don't need any help composing or writing songs. I can do that on my own, because I've been writing songs for years. But I need about 4 or 5 girls from the Plano, Texas area who wanna be in a girl singing/dance group. It doesn't matter what size you are cuz I'm not that skinny either but this is still my dream. If any of you girls reading this are interested, please email me at: flowergirl@cybernet.in.th for details. I hope to hear from some of you soon. BYE! :)

Oh wow...I don't know what kind of luck you're going to have here, flowergirl. We're all kinda spread out across the world, and the only other girl that I know of here is Michelle. You may want to try consulting your Texas Website discussion forums, or going to yahoo, and posting a message there. I'm not trying to kick you out, but I think you may have better luck where there are more people in your area.

Hope this helps a bit

Yeah, I'm the only other girl I can think of here, and sorry, but I have no wish to be the next Spice Girl. And I don't live in Texas. Donald's right--give yahoo a shot.

Hey, I want to be the next Spice Girl!

Actually, if you want corny, strap yourselve's in! I could go on tour playing the Bach Suites. You know what I'd call myself?

The Bach-Suite Boy!

Hehehe!

(Chris, please warn me if you become a female pop star. I don't think I want to see it.)

I don't think that girl's coming back, anyway, so we don't need to give her any more advice about her up-and-coming career as Britney or whatever. Actually it disturbs me slightly to think that she actually posted that it didn't matter about weight: she wasn't that thin either. It's too bad that the pop industry depends so heavily on body type. Pop-girl (I forget your name now), if you're reading this, I'm warning you now: that business is brutal so have a thick skin and don't listen to anything anyone says about how you look. Remember to keep it in perspective. It's all about the music. At least, it should be.

At least as composers, you guys, our success is dependent almost entirely on our use of orchestral colour or whatever, and not our waist size. We should be lucky. (Yeah, lucky: people insult our intelligence and not our looks.)

Of course I say all this cheezy stuff because I'M THIN!!!!! IN YOUR FACE, POP INDUSTRY!!!! YOU'LL NEVER GET ME!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!

This last paragraph shows the corruptability of female youth today. Even though I am educated, tolerant, and in a career path where my looks mean nothing, I took a paragraph to gloat about my weight. Don't I just make ya sick? Even though it shouldn't matter to me and even though I don't read teen magazines or anything, the idea has still been implanted in my brain somehow. I blame society.

I'm just buff. naturally buff. hehe. There is a popular mis-conception about me being chunky. I just have alot of streatchy elastic skin (like the guy on guiness). if anyone wants to see a picture of me streatching my skin, I'll e-mail you one.

Lots of people in the pop industry are "heavy". lookit Dr. Dre; he probably has a semi entrapped in one of his many chins. Weight shouldnt matter in music...it's the sound.

Wanted: Musical Sex Slave. Must let me whip to Bach, spank you to Shostakovich, and cut you to Mahler. Must call me High Master. Must let me write music on your donkey while I put on my leather mask and listen to German techno music. or 1-800-739-2224

Jeff, eww.

not remotely in good taste

I wouldnt have posted it if it were.

Quite crude, indeed. I have a friend, though, who would doubtless be able to find you someone willing to fulfil the post...
