I need MIDI assistance

Featured Replies

If anyone can help me here I would appreciate it. I am just getting

started learning about music and music software. I have been using the

sequencer Studio Vision Pro and I wanted to start posting some of my music

on my webpage. I found where I can export files as a MIDI file but it

saves it as a Studio Vision MIDI File. When I upload it to my wed site and

then down load it, it downloads as a Studio Vision MIDI file and not as a

standard MIDI file. What do I do? I know your thinking what an idiot, but

like I said I am very new to this. Please Help. Thank you Thank you Thank

you

Ok, when you save, you need to look for an extension which is ".mid" . As long as it's got that, then it is a standard midi file. What is suspect MIGHT be going on is that Studio Vision is the program that opens when you double click on a midi file- leading you to believe (quite logically) that it's a Studio Vision file. Try opening the file directly from the Windows Media Player (in "Entertainment) or something. See if that works. If it complains... then.... do something else.. :o)
