Cold Fusion

Featured Replies

This is one of three pieces I wrote for my band. The band is very genre bending yet not too crazy. We play all original music of mine. Basically its fusion/funk/jazz/rock/alternative. The goal of each piece of course is seemless transitions between styles.

This first piece is called Cold Fusion.

It seems you forgot the attachment.

no it just won't work for some reason, it acts like it uploads it but than nothing shows up.

Could it be because it is an mp3?

Yes, we do not allow MP3s to be uploaded due to bandwidth constraints. If you could post a MIDI though, that would be great.

ok, god this sounds so bad as a midi but here it is anyway, I hate this song song now. My stupid GM standard synth has ruined it for me.

Now this one I think you guys can really help me out with. It's not done yet, and I'm in love with the beginning. You can see what I was going for but I failed to achieve it towards the end(which will now be changed).

I don't know what to say about this one, I'm in love with lame styles of music from the 80s. Just laugh at it and move on...that's what I did. I doubt my band will play it, though it is a cool idea. And when I recorded this with my yamaha S80 synth and a real guitar, it's the coolest kind of music ever, so I think my band will still do it.

Instrumentation for all these songs is Drums,Keyboard(usually piano, some crazy synth stuff), Slap Bass, E. Guitar

yo, why can I not get feedback for any of the songs I've posted.

OH NO...I feel some FEEDBACK coming on. Stop me, my shirt is starting to rip.......

What is that thing called again ? The thing my grandmother used to like....

Oh yes ! I remember - A NICE TUNE.

I think the daft old bat was onto something. Why not try putting one over the slap-happy bass lines and jumptastic rhythms that give you such merriment. Something for the human spirit to hang on to while it's donkey is shakin' on the dance floor...........

TUNES make you breathe more easily. Don't touch an instrument, manuscript paper or a computer keyboard until AFTER you've heard a good one in your head.

There, I seem to have FED BACK.

Where's my medication ? HAVE YOU HIDDEN IT ?!!..! :D

OK, I GET IT. Thanks for your reply.

I understand what your saying but what's wrong with Urban Yogging. That's not a nice tune? Did you listen to the revised version?

  • Author

And I think nice tunes are overrated. I'm not trying to write songs for your grandma. The thing about nice tunes is, anyone can write them. I've done it many times. But it takes a little effort to do something original, and not sound like a million other artist. Maybe I haven't achieved it yet but it is possible. There's nothing wrong with aggressive bass lines and drum parts, especially when used is measured doses. Why can't musicians show off their chops in the context of a cool song?

Frankly out of the songs I've posted, the only one I like anymore is Urban Yogging.

Well i really like your style of composing! I listened to cold fusion and I hope you don't mind my saying so, but I think your songs are perfect for RPG gaming!! haha I also liked the piano solo in that song too. Is it possible on this site to submit live recordings? You can't hear all the magic in a midi file lol I hope this feedback is useful to you
