Double click the measure tool. Also, there IS an add measures option available under the edit menu.

There's no option for adding mesures under the edit menu. Even if i switch to another view it isnt there. The staff adding worked perfectly though, so thanks for that.

Okay.... I don't know studio view, but assume it's the same as the others. There should be "add measures" listed under the <Edit> menu. For adding "parts" I assume you mean more instruments, right? For that you need to be in the "Staff Tool" (looks like a treble clef) and then there should be a <Staff> menu where you can add "new staves" which will give you a new instrument part. ... Another thing to do next time would be to press <F1> anytime you have a question.... ;)
