  1. Sorry I didn't see any edit buttons for the original post or I would have put this there too, but I have updated a bit. Please post some critiques or opinions. Also note that the new "fast sounding" section is meant to be done in tasteful rubato lol. challenge.sib challenge2.mid
  2. This feedback is awesome. Don't worry, I'm playing with it right now :P. And to everyone so far, yes I stole teh beginning for Rob D. Because I love it ^_^. And heh, who cares: He stole it from Elgar :-p So maybe someone will steal it from me again. haha
  3. I am still working on this, don't worry :( As far as the intro: I'm well aware it's practically stolen... So what? IT sets up a nice contrast for the beginning. :P
  4. Thank you for the positive feedback ^_^
  5. Hope you enjoy it at least a little lol arpeggio.mid arpeggio.sib
  6. Title Finished.MIDI wrote this a long time ago as a challenge for a friend and I was wondering if the new crowd here could give me some pointers. And please ignore the left hand simplicity. It's in progress :)Challenge.mid challenge.sib Challenge_for_Candy.pdf
  7. Don't ask about the title please? lol I would simply like to have some idea as to if this musical idea is liked by anyone here. There's a new theme introduced at the end of the recording, but unfortunately, I must go for the night. I would just like any feedback if possible. Thanks in advance, Jojodi parsnip.sib
  8. Thanks again for the comments ;)
  9. Thanks for the feedback. I promote a kind of composing that a friend and myself started using. We call it self-constructive composition. It has to do simply with thinking of a subject, here given as a Knight, and to compose based on the mood, actions, and such of that subject. The changing melody of the piece is indicative of trying times for our knight, as well as (major parts) heroic success. I suggest you try the technique sometime; While some people may not understand, it is quite useful when attempting to create material. Perhaps you would all like some translations : The First measure itself is an entire idea: Awakening from sleep. 2 - 8: Dealings with the church 9 - 15:Searching the cave for the Dragon 16 : The Battle 17 - 18: Victory 19 - 22: The Spoils of Victory 23 - 26: The Princess 27 - 28: The End 29 - End: Falling Asleep (Call me a crackpot, these are the images I used.) Thank you again for teh critiques. I was quite pleased with it myself :)

  11. Okay Yay I love my violin. Just for those that care to know, the lowest note is G directly below middle C. The highest note with bareable timber is the same note 4 octaves up. Don't write anything higher than that, or you'll be flirting with the edge of the fingerboard. otherwise, it's possible, but the experience for utility at that height is really an exponential increase. Anywho. My Local Orchestra plays mostly standard Symphonic-level literature, and our highest notes ussualy range not higher than 3 octaves above middle-C. Anyways. Just some food for thought.
  12. I'm working on this piece. Please don't jabber about the sudden shifts in style etc. I am going to seperate them more fluidly later. I just need critiques about motifs and some possible continuation advice. grave.sib grave.mid

Sounds like an area from Final Fantasy gone 1960s Gameshow! :P I like! :)
  15. The Solo Piano is incredible. Congrats! I like the flowing, yet impromptu style. sounds a bit like when I improv all day long :P. Jazz + Great melody + .. just good :) Very good combination of melody and extensive reuse of the motif. Cheers Brandon
