The PDF is a bit cut-off at the end, but there shouldn't be too much missing. Finale 2009 - [Untitled1].pdf

Alright, I'll do my best to cut out the unnecessary moments tonight and perhaps post a reworking tomorrow in addition to a pdf of the original. Yes, I am currently a junior.

Thank you for your insight! I'll try to cut the repetition a bit (I have that tendency in most of my writing). If I understand it correctly: not enough development of the core themes with too many unrelated interludes and tangents? Thank you again
  4. Before I start: I don't hate Vista. That said, its just not up to par with XP, OS X, or Linux* for audio engineering/composition. I have used all four and it is my opinion that while Vista can (arguably) do some things better than XP, it just fails miserably when I need to compose. In fact, booting into linux on my laptop and using XP in a VM uses less sys-resources than booting into Vista -natively! @trevuar: that is why I use a "Hackintosh" most of the time. *Linux, unfortunately, can't support Finale outside of Wine or a VM...yet!
  5. The piece needs form and direction -even random passages need coherent direction. The composer needs to learn more theory and perhaps needs to write ideas out on paper before notating them into the computer. The auditor/critic (the rest of us) need a pdf to be able to help you more!
  6. This is a short (~7:40 min) work for oboe and piano which rests the upper range of the oboe. Abrasive and highly percussive (hence the name), I was a bit uncomfortable writing it. As the link says, the piece is not finished yet, but is in polished enough form to at least show for feedback. Since publishing that link, I have decided to keep the solo instrument as the oboe (it is playable on the oboe at full tempo for the full range of the oboe, but it is also very difficult). Future plans: Expand the piano part to full orchestration Add more movements Rework the ending Possibly extract the "C" melody (I don't know if its out of place among the less docile segments) Please comment! Don't worry about being kind or even polite if you have advice. I don't have a pdf of the score/parts with me; I'll add it Monday (sorry). Internet Archive: Details: Cuss And Percuss If you can, use the OGG file format, but iTunes does not recognize it, so if you use iTunes, download the mp3. ------------------------- Alexander Blank Webster Groves High School, St. Louis, MO.
