  1. I have to say that this piece is one of the most interesting I've ever heard. Strangely, I liked it, which I, honestly, didn't expect to because of the interesting tonality you created. I have a question for you regarding the piece: What type of style were you aiming for? 20th Century? Modernist? If I know the style, I can critique the piece in a better way. Also, what do you mean by 'is the piece presented properly'? My only complaint is that the beginning sounds awkward - almost as if you're trying to force the notes. I'd say on the second page of the score (or near that area) is where the piece picks up motion and depth. I love your interaction between each instrument. It's a different style. Great job!
  2. It sounds pretty good, but you need to develop your themes a little more and some more bass line, in my opinion. Towards the end, it tends to drive a little towards atonality. I don't know if this was your intention, but if it wasn't, then you should fix it to sound a little more tonal. You have a good sense of creating variations, so that is a big plus! Overall, pretty good.
  3. Overall, this is a wonderful quartet. I can definitely see the influence of the Classical style, but there is also your own spin on it. There are some things that can be done to make it sound better such as: -Use the viola's deep register! There's a reason why it has a C string. -In the small F-minor section, use some chords to bring out further harmony. It sounds wonderful, and I enjoyed listening to it.
  4. Hello! This is my first post, thread, and upload as a Young Composers member. My piece is a short piano piece which I titled "Appassionata in G-Sharp Minor". I love how much emotion I put into it. Note: I hate, hate, hate the very last measure. All criticisms are welcome! Thank you! :D Appassionata in G-Sharp Minor - Caesura.pdf Appassionata in G-Sharp Minor.MID Appassionata in G-Sharp Minor.MUS
