  1. Hey Daniel. Usually I can't stand a Lullaby; however this had more of an interesting harmony than other cliche chord patterns used nowadays. I enjoyed it!
  2. I enjoyed this piece; however I am struggling to identify the theme. Maybe it's just me but if I compose a theme and variations I want to make the theme clear, such as Alkan's Le Festin d'Esope: The theme is clear and identifiable in that piece. I feel your variations are great though! Please don't take this personally. I really like it other than that minor incovenience regarding the main theme. Maybe it's just in my nature?
  3. When I try and insert a slur on cross staff notation it seems to sort of mess up really badly. Has anyone else experienced this and is there a way to resolve it?
  4. I've heard the Variations and Fugue on a Russian theme, it's great. Yeah, he was an eminent pupil of Liszt, as I've read.
  5. I discovered this monster of an etude recently and I am surprised that works of his, especially this one are not performed more often. He reminds me of a Russian Liszt if you will. :)
  6. Agreed. Sergei Lyapunov is highly under rated. His Sonata in F Minor is beautiful, as is his etudes. Anyway, other composers that are unappreciated are people like Julius Reubke. An eminent pupil of Liszt. In fact Liszt once said: 'Truly no one could feel more deeply the loss which Art has suffered in your Julius, than the one who has followed with admiring sympathy his noble, constant, and successful strivings in these latter years, and who will ever bear his friendship faithfully in mind' Additionally, I would say that Alkan is slightly underappreciated too. His etudes are amazing and he conveys a distinct style. I love him (as a composer, lol).
  7. Normally, I'm up for a bit of mystery but that chord at the end is so out of place. I think I was expecting the perfect ending when suddenly, wtf? Other than that I found it enjoyable. You may want to consider extending the length of it. By the way, why have you posted a piece if you know it's a so called 'masterpiece'? Are you expecting criticism or are you merely here to brag?
  8. Gosh, this Sonata is a thrill to listen to! I always love it when a composer avoids those contemporary new age pop chord sequences which are terribly cliche and sickening. It's quite 'Beethovenish' to me, personally. (That's a good thing)
  9. This composition is brilliant in every aspect! The sound you have conveyed is beautiful. Furthermore, you have a similar sense of imagery to myself - lets put it this way, I was drifting away in ecstasy whilst admiring this piece of Music in conjunction with this complimentary image you have so kindly attached. I've always been intrigued by outer space and you have truly inspired me! Thank you.
