  1. Trombone and piano! Not the best combination, purely my opinion. Might I suggest a string instrument instead? The viola is in the same register. Original.
  2. Wow. You could feel the energy. Once or twice, it felt repetitve, but you have written an amazing work overall.
  3. The viola cannot go that low for a b-flat.
  4. Thank you. Those are great suggestions. I will change it now!
  5. Caroline, or John
  6. Great! Don't worry about "boring" for the musicians. The style is meant to be from another era. And, when you play (triple Stops), you are really rolling a chord. Although it wasn't used in that time period, it is not completely rare. For example, Gustav Holst in his St. Paul Suite's jig, the violas play the last 20 or so measures of these triple stops, or chords. Overall, it was very nice.
  7. Pretty interesting. The melody sounds quite light and airy. Uhmm, few suggestions. You don't have to mark spiccato, generally that is the articulation used, when notated as in the score. I can't think of the term right now, but at measure 59, you may want to have the violas "splitting" the parts. Also , at the key change to c major, those harmonics are very difficult to perform, so you might consider adjusting it. Overall, quite good music and orchestration.
  8. I need help with the percussion. It is very "off". Also, It need more originality, being an arrangement. Any suggestions? Carolin' strings
  9. I think of a winter wonderland! You have nailed it.FANTASTIQUE!
  10. The beginning is a wee too repetitive. You might want some more variation. More dynamics. Very original, though.
  11. great. As a viola player, I recommend going down an octave in the introduction "E". Lovely call and response 1;35 or so. So , picture painting!
  12. Very good! I would say at 0:26 to leave out the strings (the melody got a wee bit lost with the strings, or whatever it was). Very nice. Great themes!
  13. Thank you. I am new to the composition world, but glad to start. Thanks for the tips!
  14. This is an amateur attempt. Please give tips. It's a twist on the classic Rocking Robin, for string orchestra. Tweetin' Strings
  15. I'm new in the composing world. But, I have to ask: why in the world would you end on a D-sharp, f, c-sharp chord? Little hint; aim for musical harmony, that makes sense, especially in your closing. Very good ideas, though.
