Here's a piece for two pianos written to the memory of the great Gy

Hi!

I find this piece really fascinating in many ways. I can "visualise" it played live and it should be amazing! I don't have really any feedback to give, you've accomplished what you went for. Don't know if you "extended" Ligetti's techniques but you sure made one amazing piece!

I would love to get my hands on the score, but I do realise if you wouldn't want to share it.

A very enjoyable and intriguing composition. The rapid notes create excitement but also blend into a smooth line, very effective. Thanks for sharing this music.

I'm not sure it's 100% playable... some of the passages look like they might be an awkward fit in the hand.

HOWEVER, I enjoyed this immensely.

Are you considering maybe making it part of a larger suite for 2 pianos?

If so, I'd love to see a cleaned up score presented as a Major Work. Alone it's a bit too short for that section of the forum, but with at least one companion movement it would be lovely.

How about an adagio 1st movement?

It might work well as an "Adagio and toccato" for two pianos. As long as the other movement was in the same harmonic vein.

Hmmmmm, not really my style (a bit too rhythmic), but very impressive still. Are you able to play this piece on the piano?? I think anyone who could play it properly would be a very good pianist.

Thank you guys for commenting. Nikolas, the score is handwritten (and I don't have a scanner) so unfortunately I can't show you the score. Qccowboy, yes I have thought about extending the piece to a larger piece in, say, five or six movements, but then, a two-movement structure such as an "Adagio and Toccata" like you suggested may also be a good idea... I'll give it a tought. You're right that some passages are a bit awkward for the hands (although no more awkward than Ligeti's most difficult piano stuff). Still, everything's playable, I guess, but it takes two really, really good pianists to play it, that's for sure (and no, Finrod, I'm not able to play the piece myself, unless maybe I practice a helluva lot).
