Lake of Malos Nolw

Featured Replies

Hi again!:) This is lakescene theme of huge rpg soundtrack called Malos Nolw

Welcome, first of all!

This is an absolutely gorgeous piece of music; I really enjoyed it. The lakeside idea is captured nicely and the piece is musically interesting enough to keep it from sounding stale.

My only real complaint has to do with the quality of the samples. The percussion is okay with the possible exception of that tambourine which sounds terribly synthetic. The strings though...well, those could use replacing.

Your guitar writing is very effective here, I especially liked that mandolin-like bit near the end. Maybe try for a little more complexity and variety in the writing for the other instruments?

Anyway, this is a wonderful piece overall; I liked it. Keep up the good work and welcome, once again, to the forums.

I agree with almost everything Marius said. It's a good piece of music (I don't think it's extraordinary though) and I think it would fit nicely into a videogame. It is a tad repetitive at times and could have benefited from a more memorable melody. But all in all, I think it's good. The one major complaint I have is that alot of the samples you used really aren't that good. The tambourine sounds bad and I think it would sound better as some kind of ride cymbal. The rest of the percussion seemed alright sounding but I would have liked to hear a bit more variety (it seems to follow the same basic pattern throughout). The guitar sounds perfectly fine as does the mandolin (or perhaps it is another guitar). The strings however, I really would recomend changing. They aren't that bad sounding, but they seem out of place and maybe a bit too loud. Perhaps tone them down or find a better sample. All in all, it's a good piece. As far as actual writing goes, I don't see much of a problem with this one.

UPDATE: After looking at all three post you have on here, I'd recomend trying to post on other people's music as well. People will feel less obligated to comment on your music if you don't comment on anyone elses.

You compose beautiful music and I hope this forum can become a second home for you.

Like Tyler said, the more you comment on others, the more they will on yours. Your music should be heard and it may take you commenting on others to get it the recognition it deserves.
