Orchestral Dance in F

Hey guys, though this is just a short little piece, I would consider it a major piece as it is one of my best, and it was played by a professional orchestra last night. It went very well, and I'm very pleased with it. Feel free to leave your comments and thoughts. Obviously, being a New Year's Eve concert, there's a dance-like and celebratory quality to the piece. Very fun piece you have there.

I must say, your dance really was a dance (such liveliness!), which I really liked. I wouldn't say the piece captured me in any profound way, but I doubt that was the point. You've created a nice dance piece in celebration of the new year and have done it very nicely.

wow! The influence of Beethoven is impossible to ignore, a orchestral dance? it's too symphonic to be just an orchestral dance, it reminds me vivdly Beethoven's 8th symphony, which was a delightful symphony, this has so many things in common with the 8th symphony. Good job!

It's great, but do you have the mp3 recording from the performance?

Unfortunately I do not. Maybe a CD will come out though.

I thought it sounded too cliched and derivitive. I hope that didn't sound harsh.

You could have used some more interesting harmonies, but that's just my take on it. Of course, it works for what it was meant to be, but I wouldn't consider it groundbreakingly original.

Lovely piece, I enjoyed it thoroughly. However, a little short for a major work :) But beautiful, I might add.

I liked it. It was very fun. Congratulations.

The reason for the length is that was the commission. The concert already had a zillion pieces, so this could only be around three. Hopefully they're a good three though :)
