October 20, 200718 yr For piano and String Orchestra. I recently listened a lot to the orchestral songs of Yoko Kanno, and you can easily see how I used her technique of starting with the piano and adding a crescendo with the strings later on. Examples: - Back in the moment of Honey and Clover anime. - Medley of Tokyo Sora. - End title of Turn a Gundam. Imagine an angel flying to heaven. 100% EWQLSO. Score: http://two.xthost.info/katchum5/Angel.pdf mp3: XTHost.info download page
October 20, 200718 yr is that a recording? i really like this one :P learning how to play it now. ^_^
October 20, 200718 yr To the above question; Imagine an angel flying to heaven.100% EWQLSO. It's very nice! I think that it fits the scenario very well! Some day I wish to be that good... Beautiful! :)
October 22, 200718 yr Since when does EWQLSO have a piano? I must be missing it. The song itself is VERY beautiful and sweet. I don't really have much to say criticism wise. it's a nice piece.
October 22, 200718 yr Author It has this Steinway piano, it's odd you never heard of it. They have all sorts: jazz, bright, dark, pianist sensitive...
October 23, 200718 yr Love it, the ending is kinda off, but lovely piece. Sounds alot like other stuff but what lacks in originality it definitely has in feeling so thats good. Nice! Check out my current Heart of the Beast if you have time.
October 24, 200718 yr I liked the ending, the whole thing sounds like Meet Joe Black with a hint of E.T. or sometheing, pretty sweet.
October 25, 200718 yr Lots of influence from Yoko Kanno I must say, especially from the harmony, which is a great thing. If not for those harmonies, it may have well sounded like a typical new age solo piano piece, which lacks in originality. You used B b and A b but i can't find any E b which will make the piece fall into Eb major, and that intrigues me. Nice job on this piece. :)
October 26, 200718 yr Yeah. But I can still hear the influence. Like in the piece you sent me "Mt Hiei Burns". It the harmony, it's sort of a closed and "tight" kind of harmony, if you get what I mean, and I heard that kind of harmony in your piece. :)
November 8, 200718 yr First of all this was really effective. I thought you captured the mood perfectly and for what you were going for...I'm finding it very hard to find any criticism! I loved it! Second of all is a personal thank you actually. Before now I've not checked out the scored that people have posted but I looked at yours as I thought it would be a good one to follow, which it was, and I was surprised how much I picked up from doing tat and how many ideas of my own it spawned. It was unexpected but really cool. In short this is going down as one of my favourtie pieces I've heard so far on this site. Nice one. XD
November 8, 200718 yr Hey I enjoyed listening to this piece, favourite party was at bar 19. Perhaps you could have increased the range of the strings as sometimes it felt a little too crowded around the piano line. You did this more at the end which made it all the nicer for it. Thanks, Chris
