The Man of the Night (Rock Original)

Featured Replies

Alright, this is a large contrast to what's below this topic, but here goes...

(the flute is the vocals, attached are the song itself and the lyrics)

Wow, that would easily fit on a classic rock style CD. All you need is a wailing guitar solo, and I'd say you've proven yourself quite worthy in that genre.

The lyrics though, although they are creative, I'd suggest making more than just the last verse into a story, because it seems like most of it is just description of the guy.

Anyhow, very nice job :D.

Very nice song! I still love power/hard metal and rock, even though i compose classical. And as Eken said you could use a raging guitar solo (every rock song has one). if u get a live recording please post it!

About a guitar solo: there already is a guitar solo. From 2:33 to 3:23. Yes, I know that's a long solo, but the legendary solo from Stairway to Heaven is only a couple of seconds shorter. I might write a revised solo.

I played your "Solo" and I must say, PLEASE REWRITE IT! A guitarist can do so much more than that! Plus three quartet notes in a rolo during a guitar solo is A)Boring B)Annoying to a guitarist C) Can be replaced with so many more 32nd notes!

In agreement with bitterduck here...

That solo is dirt easy... any semi-beginner could play it. If that's what you were aiming for, then go with it, but just confirming Bitterducks' statements.

Yeah, what we want is the fast note runs at the top of the fingerboard (or would you call it the bottom? I guess what I mean is it's high up there in the range). Listen to a bunch of those old classic rock solo's and you'll see what I mean.

I want something that would works with the music. That solo hardly works at all. It was very limited and lasted for tooo long for a limited solo.

Also to compare your solo to "stairway to heaven", even if it's just time, is a joke!

Reety aw-righty, here's a second effort (I sped the song up a little, and added more than a guitar solo).

You have now come across another problem. At certain points in your solo you go above the 24th fret. Most guitars don't go above 24. Some don't even go above 22. Also you stay in the 20 area fret for a long time, and you shouldn't do that.

Hey

Firstly cool song.

Secondly your problem with the guitar solo is your need a no midi guitar.

Midi sucks especially for guitar (the instrument has to much dynamic)

Ill record you one if you ever need me too.

And guitars can have 24 frets. (dont worry bout that

Subsitutes such as artificial harmonics and bending can make substitues if they dont.

great song

Um yeah...the solution for the 24 fret thing...just lower the guitar solo an octave. Then you'll have, as it stands, the official song.
