It sounds very well produced, but it's kind of hard to evaluate out of context. Can you provide us with some more background of the documentary and cue the piece is playing to (or better yet, some video clips)?

Hi all,

The documentary is an historical overview on Archimedes, a very important Greek inventor. He was a foundamental character during the battles between Greeks and Romans.

I can't put any video clips extracts but the atmosphere of the video is very smooth and we've a several battles images takes from old movies.

Also we have some indian aspects in the docu, so...

Sorry for my english

WOW! It's great! Really like a video game or movie theme. Couldn't give a bad comment even if i wanted to. Excellent work, keep it up!

I thinks it's amazing!! It reminds me exactly of all those Discovery channel little doc things I used to watch where they're talking about the Roman Empire, or the assassination of Caesar or something like that. While your composition was playing I could clearly imagine a Graeco-Roman setting. Also, it gained excitement in certain places which seemed like it was a battle so that worked great. And, you could hear the more Arabic or Oriental influences or something... and you said there was some aspects from India in it or something. Overall it's amazing.

So, are you a professional composer for documentaries or something??

Veni veni vinci... translation: Holy heck this is amazing work! I am sitting here actually narrating in my head what the narrator would be saying over this:

"Archimedes was a bold inventor, some say... too bold. But who was he really? A man? A Myth? Recent archeological data suggests that the man we all know as Archimedes, was really, a woman."

(In comes the drums).

"Archimedes, from the words, Archi and medes, mean "wo" and "man". This has escaped researcher's sexist minds for centuries, as they has truncated the "wo" and stuck with the "man". So who was this woman named Archimedes after all? Find out, right after the break."

--

Which reminds me: If you have ever wondered what mankind truly means, is, or what our purpose is, a friend of mine has begun to solve the mystery and puts it this way:

"In order to understand "mankind", we have to dissect the word. The word itself comes from two other words: "mank" and "ind". Once we learn the meaning of these words, we will understand what mankind truly is."

But seriously, how did you get those voices in there? Were they sampled clips of latin, or did you have people actually sing them? They are very effective.

I loved this piece. Keep up the good... no... GREAT work!

Niiiiiiiiice!!

The video game "Pharoah", which is a real time strategy game set in Ancient Egypt has some music very similar to this. Not a bad thing though :D

Hey,

YOU ROCK.

No, but really. You do. Excellently produced, and judging by the "visual compliment," I can say that you've nailed it.

You're brilliant use of woodwinds and percussion reminds me so much of James Newton Howard's "The Village" score.

I'm curious by the process you used to write and perform this piece for recording, because, quite frankly, you have the job I want. :D

I see Hollywood motion pictures in your future. You know that a score is great when it's got a life of its own.

Hey , thanks for all your comments, i really enjoied.....

step by step.

I'm a professional music composer for all media, i run a small studio near Rome.

i work expecially for docu and advertising but also for movies, games and short.

Some voices was from a library but other from a personal sampling session from a ellenic cd's, but not all voice lines are latin.

I recorded live , all flutes , played by my friend Henry Cook, he've a personal ethnic flute collection, we had recorded all passage online becouse the production schedule was very very hard and with no time.

All music was composed, recorded and mixed (also syncronized to the video) in 5 days.

For all orchestra arrangements i used Vienna Symphonic library but some special percussion comes from Project Sam library.

All guitars are sampled but re-programmed to obtain a new acient sound.

The docu is 20 min. long and played in a important museum (looped).

I like your feedbacks, it's important to me to have advice and impressions and sensation from the listeners. I'll put her some other cues.

I'm still working now on a short-fiction (25min) so, some extracts, very soon....

Regards
