February 22, 200818 yr Fredrik You do such great brass work! I know you use the same GPO instruments that I do, but I can never get my brass to sound like this. Using a notation program just seems to deaden the brass. Plus, I don't get the same options that you can get in Sonar. I am still learning Sonar and have yet to do a large piece. I use Sonar Home Studio XL. Sweetwater is running a 7 day sale that will let me upgrade to Sonar 7 Studio for $99 (normally $199). I don't really have the money, but am still considering it. What do you think? Back to your piece. This is another great addition to the PLANET of QUASAR series. I think that your picture of Bongo is actually a picture of my Abstract Algebra Professor. Ron
February 22, 200818 yr Author Hi Ron, I'm not going to keep any secrets from you I use first of all a good soundcard! My soundcard is a Creative Soundblaster Fatality. Not so cheap... I agree! nr 2. I have Sonar 7. And then of course I have very fast ultra 160 scsi harddrives! They make everything much easier! nr 3. I have 4 gig of memory stuck on my motherboard... dual core AMD processor on top of that! When I choose my brass in GPO, I choose the overlay option! Makes the brass sound more excited and Wagnerian! Which is a must in my orchestral pieces. I am a Wagnerian :) I love Wagner's music:D, but not his strange books about nationalism and anti-Semite!:angry: Leonard Bernstein called him a super-ego-maniac... but Bernstein also calls him the crisis composer of the 19th century...! Bernstein says... "Tristan and Isolde is the crisis work of the 19th century!" That's very interesting... I mean when someone like Leonard Bernstein says something like that! If I would write for a French audience... most of my heroes would get shot in the end :)

Bongo is ready as you can see! I'm preparing to write the next chapter of Quasar now! Next chapter: "Diving deep in the goldmines of Mongolia" - (We had to land on Greenland! I like the concept, an over the top sci-fi story, and your music fits it well. I can swear the ending is almost a direct quotation of your, I think, Hansenberg Concertos(?) I would have liked a dark ending too(admittedly, I'm not American), but then again, it must be remembered that this is only a part of the whole, and finality is not needed yet. :thumbsup:

It is a quote from my "Hansenburg concerto no 1!" The last two months, I been working on my other story "Chateau Machiavelli" or "Chateau TAlbot"... so "Planet Quasar will be continued soon!
