"Interesting Piece No.1" for Bb Clarinet and Piano

Featured Replies

Interesting Piece No.1

for the Bb Clarinet and Piano

- Written in Concert C+

- Already transposed for live performance

- Dynamics not written

- About One minute and Thirty seconds.

NOTES:

This piece was written for my brother as a "joke" kind of gift. I think that some of the notation might be a tad "off", but this was just a quick little composition. ALSO, Noteworthy does NOT have broken chord symbols (so please put up with my leading grace-notes)

My dearest apologies to the Pianist for such a confusing part. Even more dear apologies to the audience that may be subject to this auditory abuse.

Do what you wish with this piece. I do not value it all that much.

You call it a "joke" and "auditory abuse;" I say there's some interesting stuff here. The whimsical theme in 5-6 makes the piece--admittedly there's no real move to a contrasting section (not that you need one; it's your call)--but hey: if there was more stuff of that calibre here I'd say you'd be on your way to having more than a musical blague. Keep up the creative use of tonality; I've got to crawl out of my shell more in that department ;). Oh--and thanks for your compliment on the 1st mvt. of Epistrophe (http://www.youngcomposers.com/forum/epistrophe-sonata-cello-piano-mvt-1-pesante-lento-con-tristezza-13249.html).

Post some more stuff!

Do you really intend for the clarinetist to tongue every note?

Do you really intend for the clarinetist to tongue every note?

Nah. That's my lack of motivation.

I suppose it would be up to the performer to put in expression, lyric, and whatever else. Really, it would be better if I was a tad more serious about this one... :whistling:
