Opening scene of Adventure Film

Featured Replies

Hi,

My name is Ben and i am 15 years old. I have been composing 3 years but recently have begun to get more serious. I have always loved music ever since I started playing 8 years ago, now I have turned to composing.

I have been looking for somewhere to get feedback on my pieces for ages, so was really pleased when I found young composers! It looks like a great community and a fantastic place to share my pieces.

I mainly like writing film music and this is one of my first full orchestral pieces. I wrote it to be the opening scene of an adventure film. This is version 2.

Hope you enjoy it! and please comment!

Lydridge Cove Opening - Orchestral Score.MUS

Very Great!

Welcome to the forum (It feels cool to be the first poster!)

This is a very nice piece that has a lot of good musical passages in it. At also, has a poor (sorry =[) ending, and somewhat of a boring climax.

Now, I'm not the best musician, but the ending deserves more majesticity (is that a word?), more...UMPH!! A Crescendo is a must! The climax: I can see where you want it, but add that little spice, that big dramatic drum roll to it. You obviously know a whole bucketload of theory, but add yourself into it!

This was a great piece. I enjoyed in overall. =D

Thanks for the feedback v!olaplayer416!

I have spent some time making some of the suggested changes, mainly the ending which was previously a bit rushed. New link new added. ^

Anymore feedback would be great, it's suprisingly difficult to spot the weak parts of a piece when you've heard it so many times!

That was a GREAT improvement, lol.

I see the changes, I feel what the music is trying to bring out, but I'm still not feeling the ending. Well, the ending is probably leading to the beginning of the story. If that's true, give the strings a decrescendo to a -pp- or something, and try to add the timpani in the end too.

I can't wait to hear the ending!!

Oh, and yes, it is VERY hard to do that.

My music teacher always catches me!

(ps, I've got a piece that I'm gonna upload soon! It'll be my first one on these forums. I'm 13, btw)

Sorry I feel bad now, becuase when I last posted I didn't upload the new version becuase I didn't have time. What you where listening too was the original still! I have sorted out the ending aswell...

Now I really will post the new link now I have time.

Please tell me when you post your piece and I will have a listen and give you some comments!

*Well at least all of the above proves that the more you listen to a piece the more you like it!

o.e

I could have sworn it changed, lol!!

Yeah, that definitely proves it!

My piece are finished now, but I can't seem to get my files [.wavs] into [.mp3] form. T_T

download a program audacity ( Audacity: Free Audio Editor and Recorder ) and use it to save your .wav to an .mp3. Yes, there are many other smaller simpler programs that do the same job. But this is only one of the many reasons i love this program Everyone should own this program.
