March 10, 200818 yr Well, umm, here is a composition that I had written around the end of last year for "something" (it was for something I'm sure, but i forgot what, so it kind of lost its purpose...that makes no sense, i know :P)...Anyway, once again, any comments/constructive criticisms would be greatly appreciated, as I believe they will help me to improve. Here is the mp3 file for it: Ex Animo And I wrote this in Finale (before my cd broke...), so I've included the .mus and midi files as attachments. Ex Animo Overture.MID Ex Animo Overture.MUS
March 15, 200818 yr I think the contour of the piece is quite nice: the length of the opening unison/octaves, the gradual build-up of sound and the final return to the scale. I like the crunchy 2nds which are introduced almost halfway into the piece (and stay until near the end); they seem to add an amount of complexity and richness to the sound. I notice that the latter parts of the piece feature prominent melodies floating over accompaniment. Might it be interesting to add a counter-melody or two in some of those parts?
