Question about software

Hey guys, I just signed up for this forum and I've been composing for acouple years. The only composition program I have is Finale, and I was wondering if there is another realtivly cheap program I could get that would produce better sounding recordings then midi. I know I could get something like Garritan Personal Orchestra to produce the sounds but I dont want to spend 200 bucks on samples. Is there a cheaper way I could get semi-professional recordings for a cheaper price? Is there any way I could play my MIDI file through another program that would render it to higher quality audio? I'm sick of MIDI sounds. lol.

There are many options for producing good quality recordings of your MIDI compositions, one of which just happens to be the MIDI to MP3 recordings offered by the site owner here. Check out the MIDI to MP3 Recordings Demos forum. You could also use MIDI soundfonts or a software synthesiser.

there are such soundbanks called soundfonts in .sf2 format. most of which are free and are all over the internet. all you need for them is a plugin able to use these soundfonts. (such as this freeware vsti: [sfz])

for orchestral soundfonts, i would go with gm soundbanks (these are big downloads though

examples. Fluid GM sf, Titanic GM sf.

finale is a notation program it´s thinked for write pieces, if you realy want good sounds I recomend to you work with .sf. too but is very important to use these throug a good program, fruity loops work with plugins and is very easy to create all type of music you want. :thumbsup:
