My first symphony

Featured Replies

Hello,

I have put my first symphony on my website. Is has four movements, you can listen to the music and read the score while listening. Have a look here:

I only had the time to listen to the 1st and 4th movements, but enjoyed what I heard.

You have some very nice interplay going on with the winds.

Overall a very solid piece.

Well done

Thanks, Ron. My next goal is to get it performed by a real orchestra, that would be the best reward!

I really liked the themes you had and how they kept coming back and how well you used them in the piece. I really like the harp as well =D!

Overall, great job!

If you have a second, check out my piece...its nowhere as good as this but it would be nice to have some critique,

I agree with Skahead

I liked the development of ideas in the first movement. Overall the piece is succinct and to the point which is a good skill to have. In the three movements I listened to, you always had good control over your ideas and didn't wear them out. I found the last movement a little bit light in character. No doubt this is intentional as the music overall is very straightforward, but the first theme did sound quite "circussy" if that is an adjective.

Really enjoyed this!

If you can't get it performed by a real orcestra, you should process it through a orchestral program.

Would be great to his a recording of this though.
