Baltimore Symphony Orchestra - Choose Seats

Play! A Video Game Symphony

Friday, July 18, 2008 at 8:00 p.m.

Arnie Roth, conductor

Performed by full orchestra and chorus, Play! A Video Game Symphony features award-winning music from a catalogue of over 20 blockbuster video games, along with exciting visuals. Music includes selections from classic childhood games and current popular games, such as Final Fantasy

I saw this in Toronto, it was extremely cool. My opinion is hardly going to count as an unbiased response to the merits question, but I would recommend that you see one if you ever do get the opportunity - they're good arrangements and if you like any of the music to begin with then you'll appreciate it all the more coming out of a symphony orchestra. :)

I have orchestral recordings of a few game classics. I must say, they're impressive. I'd see such a concert if I ever got a chance.

july 18th. Okay. i will find a way to get there! I hope :x

I'm really happy that Play! and Video Games Live are doing what they're doing. I feel like video game music has reached a level of appreciation that film music has. Maybe not on the same level, but it's getting there :)

As a matter of interest for all folks in and around the Greater Toronto Area, FutureShop is hosting an entire day of video game related fun this weekend which is culminating in a FREE performance of the Video Games Live show.

No, I'm not kidding and yes, I will be there. It's this Saturday evening at 8:30 in the Yonge-Dundas square. Check out more info:

Post here if you'll be attending! :)

Finally, Baltimore becomes important to everyone! Go BSO!!
