Feedback on My First Movie Score :)

Featured Replies

Hey all! I really really would like to get some feedback on my piece. It is a movie score fo an intense sort of scene. It is my first pieces, so please tell me what you think! :)

Exactly what kind of scene did you have in mind for this piece? It would help to know to give a helpful comment.:)

Haha I dont know. It sounds like a slow motion type scene. Very dramatic. Or creadits. :)

I see this song as a prepping for a battle or something, thats all I pictured in it.

Though it was a little drawn out, it was nice sounding. This song sounded very familiar to a song from Transformers.

Overall I think it sounded nice, but now I'm gonan have to break from writing for a bit cause I have that string piece stuck in my head.:P

what programme do you use to write? i liked it

Thanks for your input guys! I actuall used Magix, and my keyboard. :)

Its great, nice building up the tension there, although the sample with the guy saying something gets annoying at the end.

I presume thats to stop people ripping it and using it.

I liked it - very nice quality (probably because I'm used to MIDI sounds). The percussion is well used. The only thing I would say is that it would need more variation to be included. Perhaps starting off with the theme and revisiting it later, with something totally different in the middle.

I think the strings from 0:09 could be called a theme and it does return towards the end. You could also say that 1:14 is a slightly differnet direction and provides for variation. But from then on it's basically the same thing building up until the end. That may need a bit of variation, perhaps you could introduce another theme. I wouldn't say it's intense, rather it feels like it's for a scene just before the climax of the film where the climax would be the most intense part. As someone else said above, it sounds more like a preparing-for-a-battle sorta thing. I liked it, if you were going for a Hollywood feel then you should be happy because you achieved that quite well.
