July 30, 200520 yr Hi! I've been reading this book about a composing/audio recording program made by a company who i think is called cakewalk. The name of the product is SONAR and the book also mentions another program called Pro audio. The book is basically a user guide so it doesn't give any reviews of the program, it also doesn't list the price. If you know anything about any of the above please let me know! Beth :P
July 30, 200520 yr Sonar's pretty good, but the price tag is pretty high too (I'm not sure about the exact prices, but I think it's 200-300, depending on if you get the normal or "producer" edition) - but it has tons of neat features, like surround mixing. Anyways, check out Cakewalk's website (http://www.cakewalk.com) and try the demo - you might also want to check out the Home Studio series if you don't need all the features listed (it's substantially cheaper), or maybe even Guitar Tracks Pro (very good for guitar writing, I've heard) or Fruity Loops (very easy to use, though more inclined towards electronica musics). So yeh, check out the demos and decide for yourself.
March 13, 200620 yr I work with sonar but is LE version. It`s not a great program but, work with midi and audio recorder is easily. one thing bad is the autowriter, it put the real time notes when you record throug a midi keyboard, for that the partiture is very very ugly( I haven´t meet a program that make it good). if you want to know something about sonar LE only you must say to me. My english is very bad, i know, sorry.
