16th CGEmpire comp.

Featured Replies

I composed this one rather quickly back in May for the CGE competition in June. I knew I would have no time in June due to a class I am taking, so I threw it together pretty fast and waited until the competition was over to post it here.

It is a theme for a Dark Lord

The way I composed it is this one

16th.mp3 - File Shared from Box.net - Free Online File Storage

I knew it had no ending so I messed around with it some and entered this version in the competition

16th Battle.mp3 - File Shared from Box.net - Free Online File Storage

I know the ending doesn't fit great, but it was fast.

Comments are appreciated

So you survived your math blitz! Glad to see you back.

Both versions have a good dark mood. The first longer version (16th) to me has more bite and aggression in the overall sound, and I like the middle softer section. But yes it doesn't have an ending. Even so I really like it.

The 16th Battle version is shorter - the ending as you say is still not perfect. Perhaps you can become inspired and find an ending harmonic sequence :).

Very dark and scary - The Dark Lord and the dark side of force was I thinking about. It's mostly underscore so it's not easy to listing but as an background of actions taken by some dark character it fits perfect. I think both versions are good and the ending seems fine to me.

btw what competition?

Today I did my final presentation for the class and blew everyone away. My teammates and I did our presentation on Partially Ordered sets (posets) and we were told by everyone there that our presentation was fantastic. Tomorrow we just have a goodbye lunch and then I will know that I survived this course. No more 18 hours a day of Math for a while.

Monday I start a regular class and another job, but that should bring me back to an easy 12 hour day, so I hope to be able to revisit this and clean it up and find a decent ending as well.

One of the moderators here is nikolas, who is also a main man at CGEmpire.com. He runs monthly competitions that are mostly made for Games and such. The next one will begin soon, so visit the site and look around. We would love to have you join in the competitions as well. There are always great prizes for the winners, but it is a ton of fun and good experience too.

Thanks guys

Outstanding as usually .

Was just browsing through the incidental music section and saw a thread with "CGE" in it.

Looked to see who started the thread and it was you.

I liked nikolas' "dragons" piece for CGE so much that I had very high expectations fo rthis one .

All my expectations were met and surpassed.

I like how this portrays a dark lord, it does it well in my opinion.

The ending for the first one, I think it fits nicely; fits into the dark mood of the peace.
