Gpo Bass *Tear* - 2009 finale and ect.

So I've just updated my finale and I noticed to my own horror that the playback of my bass drum from Gpo's General Percussion is destroying the sound. It causes a wierd "ripple tear" through the rest of the music and it sounds like an over done echo.

I tried recording it by itself and it still happend. I can attach an audio if anyone thinks that would help.

I've also been having problems playing back from the middle of the piece but I think that this is just due to alot of instruments (full orchestra) and my laptops uncapable hardware.

Issues like this are usually due, in my experience, to the sound card. Update the drivers, reinstall Finale, hope for the best.

My composition teacher had the same thing but with a specific pitch on the flute. It would cause Sibelius to emit a horrible, high-pitched "laser" noise then refuse to play sound at all.

GPO Playback takes up a LOT of your computer's resources, particularly on older machines. Try exporting the file as a WAV (or other audio) format and try playing it in Media Player or iTunes.

No updates available... I will reinstall finale most definitely.

Ahhh yes, when I listen to things they are always bounced as I am experiancing other problems as well... such as tearing with regular playback but I pretty sure that is due to my computers retartedness.

-To note the bass drum tears when it is the ONLY instrument I have loaded with GPO and am playing, so I don't think it is Finale.

When I say update your drivers, I mean reinstall them if no updates are available.
