Completely new attempt at music for a game

Personally I think this is a huge improvement over my last attempt. I think it fits the game well, but I'm more interested in impressions of it removed from that context for now. There's a thing a did at the beginning of the midi to try and simulate thunder- it sounds pretty good on my computer, but I can't make any guarantees about anyone else's, so if it sounds like crap, let me know, but don't make a big point of it.

The beginning sounded fine, but I felt that the music lost direction after that beginning section. Maybe this wouldn't matter as much in a video game context but I found it kind of annoying out of context. It did get back on track near the end but I found the middle section rather bland.

Also, there were several moments when two melodies were playing and then one would drop off without so much as a resolving note, and all that would be left is a thin single melody, possibly contributing to the directionless feel of the music. And not in a good way.

Sorry to be so critical.

No it's fair enough. I definitely hear what you're saying. I tried a little revision- I'll leave you with that for now, as I've there's a lot of incredibly important coding that's going to have to take precedence over this, but I'd still appreciate any more thoughts on it.

I think there's some good ideas in your song, but they are very poorly executed and that whole bit around 1:15 sounded pretty random. I would say this is the type of track that would need some background effects at all times.

The drumming was very off and quite honestly, it sounds (judging by this track) that you don't really know how to write/sequence drums. They also seemed to start and stop whenever.

Overall, there are a few good moments about this song, but it feels like an incomplete work.
