August 14, 200817 yr Hey guys, I was on here a few years back as Wolf or something! : D Please enjoy the stuff I've been working on recently. MySpace.com - Julian the Composer - CA - Classical / Experimental - www.myspace.com/julianthecomposer It's my new 11 minute song split into pieces. I wrote it in two days. I hope to be active on here again. ^^
August 14, 200817 yr Needs more structure. I feel like there is nothing consistent, but just a lot of notes placed in random places. Try to think of an emotion or feeling that you would like to convey and then spend a lot of time on that idea. Consistency is very important. Also, songs can express a lot of different things at once, but it has to flow cleanly. I want to hear you write some more, but put a lot more time into it.

Many people tend to get confused about what is too static and what is structured in modern music. The song is also considerably larger then the samples provided, which may explain the lack of reasoning in your assessment. I hope it's not a unanimous characterization of my work.
August 14, 200817 yr Maybe there's a 'lack of reasoning' in my assessment because I'm new here and have done very little critiquing. I prefer music with stronger and more pronounced themes/objectives/melodies. It's not a unanimous characterization because I could only access the first two minutes or so.
August 14, 200817 yr Welcome [back] Julian, I tended to enjoy you stuff - some very interesting textures and sonic landscapes, even in the short clips.. Stick around, I'm happy to have more Canadian back-up on here!
August 14, 200817 yr Author Thanks, Canadians rarely wander outside their igloo environments, we only have one computer in our town, the Mayor owns it. ^^
August 14, 200817 yr Julian Why did you split this up? Soundclick restrictions? It is difficult to get a good feeling for the piece split up like this. I like it. But would enjoy it more if it could be presented in full. Ron
August 15, 200817 yr Author Yes, restrictions on my mid to mp3 program. When I buy the thing I'll upload it all, it should be in the near future. Not too near though.
