Small enigmatic piece

Featured Replies

Hi, I just wrote this piece, it's not completly finished yet, but this is pretty much how it's gonna sound like. It sounds simple, but it is kinda of tough to play. Please comment (they really help!)

thanks

wow, total rejection! ok, ...I take it. - cutting wrist in the background -

Not having replies doesn't mean your piece has been rejected. Try reply to some other pieces for a while, and advertise yours you want analysed in your sig.

Showing the score in a format that others can read, ie. pdf format, would be useful too - not everyone has sibelius.

How do I turn sibelius files into pdf?

Cute PDF Writer. Then print!

Personally, I like it. It has some problematic passages for me, but overall, I think it's a success, and I look forward to hearing the finished composition. It trails off at the end, and I would prefer an intentional ending. (Probably most of my own pieces have better endings than middles!)

It just occurred to me to ask--it is required that we submit the text version/written notation of a composition, or is the sound file itself enough? I ask because I just ventured to post something, as a response to someone else's post, and I didn't include the written music, just the MIDI.

Keep developing this piece. I'm all for "small, enigmatic pieces" in piano, since so far, that is all I write. Keep up the good work.

I like it, very dissonant, maybe it could use a little fresh air somewhere- like a break from the melody to just vamp on some chords. Also, I think a minor-major seventh chord voicing would work well to end the piece. Overall nice work
